The work

Freelance

2023 and 2026

Carlisle church of Christ is a freelance client I have built for twice. In 2023 I redesigned the site on Next.js, with custom Bible reading plans. In 2026 I rebuilt it on Storyblok so the staff edit content themselves. It is live on Netlify at carlislecofc.com.

What the 2026 rebuild gives the staff

  • A visual editor with live preview
  • A recurring-events calendar with a subscribable feed
  • Moderated prayer requests

Why the CMS was the point

The 2023 site was mine to edit. The 2026 one is theirs: staff write in a visual editor with live preview, publish, and watch the site rebuild itself on Netlify. I chose Storyblok for it, and this portfolio runs on the same pairing, so the site you are reading is the second proof of that choice.

The weekly bulletin

I also design the church's weekly bulletin: cream paper, coral and sky accents, a script with a refined serif, and photo cards on an offset color block. The offset block with photo corners is the framing device every work plate on this site borrows.

The bulletin pages sit with the rest of the print work on the handcrafted page.
